The going gets tough for Kimani on Day Three

After ending Day Two of this year’s Kenya Open Golf Championship on the top of the Leaderboard, costly errors saw Kenya’s Ali Kimani drop points and end the day at a disappointing 2 under par 76 at the Muthaiga Golf Club.

Ali KimaniA visibly disappointed Kimani who admitted that he did not play well, started having problems at the 7th hole where he hit the ball to the right and 10th hole where he used a wrong club.

“I have to admit that things just did not go right for me today despite the fact that I did all I could and the fans gave me all the support I needed,” said Kimani who is the only Kenyan left in the tournament after the rest failed to make the cut on Day Two.

He pointed out that since the tournament has reached a very crucial stage, he intends to stick to the same game plan on the last day and called upon Kenyans to turn out in large numbers to come and support him.

“The support I have received from Kenyans since yesterday is very encouraging and despite the fact that I did not perform well today I wish to ask them to turn up in large numbers tomorrow and give me the same support,” Kimani said.

He said overnight leader Oliver Fisher is a very good player as he is composed as well as being a good ball striker. He added that all was not lost as he can still bounce back on the last day and give Kenyans something to cheer about.
